چکیده
In this article, it is my intention to analyse two theoretical notions related space, namely Pierre Nora’s idea of the site memory and Gaston Bachelard’s thoughts on space house, as applied Evelyn Waugh’s Brideshead Revisited (1945). I base analysis symbolic value English country house with regard interwar aristocracy upper classes depicted in novel; that is, a memory. consider point view three characters: Charles Ryder, novel’s first-person narrator, Lord Sebastian Flyte, Ryder’s intimate friend, Marchmain, Sebastian’s father, who triggers sudden unexpected ending through his deathbed conversion Roman Catholicism, family’s creed.
